SUMMARY:
Are you an experienced and detail-driven Accountant looking to take ownership of fixed asset management, trust accounting, and stock reconciliation? Join my clients finance team and play a critical role in driving accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic budgeting.

POSITION INFO:
As an Accountant , you will be responsible for the following:

Oversee fixed assets and maintain accurate records
Monitor Capex budgets and keep the Capex schedule updated.
Create purchase orders for Capex-related items and ensure all related invoices are paid.
Capitalize purchased assets and post all necessary journals.
Tag assets with appropriate asset numbers.
Facilitate the asset disposal process, ensuring correct documentation, system updates, and journal postings.
Run monthly depreciation and post depreciation journals.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and audit schedules related to fixed assets.
Maintain and reconcile the Capex schedule and update wear-and-tear schedules.
Manage budgeting and forecasting for multiple trusts.
Post intercompany, depreciation, and other accounting journals.
Run and review monthly financial statements and submit to the Trust Administrator.
Complete and file SARS income tax returns (annually) and VAT returns (monthly and bimonthly).
Prepare annual financial statements for trusts and manage audit preparation.
Support auditors with all fixed asset and trust-related queries.

What Do You Need?:

3-5 years experience in similar role.
Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., BCom, BCompt, SAIPA/SAICA articles)
Experience in AccPac and Dbit will be beneficial.
Strong attention to detail
Able to work independently
