SUMMARY:
An industry leader in end-to-end logistics solutions is seeking a Project Accountant to oversee financial management across complex, high-value client projects. This role offers exposure to fast-moving logistics operations, hands-on project control, and the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring project profitability and financial precision.

POSITION INFO:
Our client delivers integrated logistics and supply chain projects across Africa, specialising in customised transport and distribution solutions for blue-chip clients. The Project Accountant will work closely with project managers and operations teams to ensure financial accuracy, cost control, and timely reporting across multiple concurrent projects.

This position is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a deadline-driven, project-based environment and enjoys translating operational activity into meaningful financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee full financial management of project portfolios — from budgeting and forecasting to close-out reporting
Monitor project costs, revenue recognition, and margin performance in line with accounting standards
Prepare month-end project statements, WIP schedules, and cash flow projections
Partner with project and operations teams to track spend, identify variances, and implement corrective actions
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls
Provide timely and insightful reporting to management to support decision-making

Job Experience & Skills Required:

BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification (CIMA or SAIPA advantageous)
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in project accounting, cost accounting, or management accounting within logistics, supply chain, or related project environments
Strong understanding of project costing, WIP, and revenue recognition principles
Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience (e.g. SAP, Syspro, or Oracle)
Strong business partnering ability, comfortable engaging with both finance and operations teams
Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in driving financial accuracy
