Company and Job Description:
A well-established medium to large construction and engineering group is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Financial Accountant to join its finance team. This role is designed for an individual who is eager to develop into a senior financial leadership position within a dynamic, project-based environment.

Reporting directly to the Financial Director, the successful candidate will perform the core functions typically associated with a Financial Manager role. The position is demanding and best suited to a driven professional with a strong commitment to career progression and long-term professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Full financial accounting function for a medium to large organisation
Accurate application of debit and credit accounting principles
Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
Operational and strategic finance support to the Financial Director
Ongoing development into a senior finance role as part of the company’s succession planning

Job Experience and Skills Required:
Completed degree in Finance or Accounting
Completion of SAICA or SAIPA articles at a small to mid-tier accounting firm
2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Exposure to BuildSmart or comparable construction accounting systems is advantageous
