SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking for professional and detail orientated Accountant who is comfortable working with numbers, calculations, and financial systems, to join the team.

Purpose of the role:
To manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and provide financial insights that support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Provide variance analysis and financial insights

General Ledger Management

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Process journal entries and adjustments
Ensure proper classification of transactions

Accounts Payable & Receivable

Oversee creditor and debtor functions
Ensure timely invoicing and collections
Monitor cash flow and outstanding balances

Compliance & Tax

Ensure compliance with South African financial regulations (e.g., SARS, VAT, PAYE)
Prepare and submit tax returns
Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors

Payroll Support

Assist with payroll processing and reconciliations
Ensure statutory deductions are accurate

Internal Controls

Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures
Identify and mitigate financial risks
Ensure adherence to company policies

Financial Analysis

Analyse financial data and trends
Provide recommendations to improve financial performance
Support strategic planning initiatives

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
Completed or studying towards professional qualification (e.g., SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA)
3–5 years’ experience in an accounting role
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, Xero, SAP)
Strong knowledge of IFRS / GAAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Understanding of South African tax legislation
Attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
