A dynamic actuarial consulting environment is seeking an Actuarial Manager who is passionate about technical excellence, team leadership, and delivering bestâinâclass actuarial solutions. You will work across multiple African markets, gaining exposure to complex valuation work, IFRS17, capital modelling, model governance, and high-level client engagement.
This role offers the chance to lead a highâperforming team of actuarial analysts and consultants, while playing a pivotal role in shaping actuarial deliverables, refining methodologies, and supporting strategic business growth. POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and develop a highâperforming team of actuarial analysts and consultants.
Oversee, review, and ensure quality of actuarial deliverables, including:
- Statutory valuations (including IFRS17)
- Embedded Value reporting
- Product pricing and design
- Model validation & governance
- ORSA reporting
- Surplus analysis and experience investigations
- Technical actuarial audits
- Capital modelling & solvency calculations
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and actuarial frameworks.
Manage multiple projects with effective resource allocation, timelines, and quality assurance.
Contribute to thought leadership through research, publications, and industry presentations.
Support business development through proposals, client pitches, and technical insight.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education – Minimum requirement:

Fellow of a recognised actuarial body (FASSA, FIA or equivalent).

Experience:

8–10 years actuarial experience.
Minimum 2 years in a leadership or managerial position.
Strong technical background in insurance, risk modelling, and financial reporting.
IFRS17 experience advantageous.

Skills:

Proficiency in actuarial software such as Prophet, MoSes, R, Python, etc.
Strong analytical, statistical, and modelling expertise.
Excellent stakeholder and client engagement ability.
Leadership qualities with proven team development experience.
Commercial awareness and understanding of consulting environments.
Innovative mindset with ability to apply modern tools (AI, data analytics) to actuarial work.
