POSITION INFO:

A reputable Johannesburg North based company operating in the Insurance sector is looking for a Qualified Actuary to join their team. If you are the ideal for this vacancy, please apply!

Qualifications:

• Fellow of Actuarial Society (FASSA), Associate of the Actuarial Society (AMASSA), and/or Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary (CERA) designation
• Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree and/or Bachelor of Business Science (BSc) degree specialising in Actuarial Science
• Minimum 10 years’ working experience involving Embedded Value and Analysis of Change in Embedded Value within the Insurance industry
• Advanced proficiency involving Qlikview, SQL, and actuarial modelling skills using Basys, Prophet, and/or Moses software are highly advantageous

Job description & Skills:

• Overseeing the budgeting of expectant revenues and financial forecasting of the estimated amount of revenue and income in the foreseeable future
• Conducting actuarial experience investigations and analyses to support decision making that promotes the ultimate business mandate and general objectives
• Engaging with various business departments, business partners, and/or stakeholders to maximise business value creation to support best-in-class customer service
• Calculating actuarial valuations, embedded values and providing the accurate Analysis of Change in Embedded Value
• Facilitating compliance with Solvency Assessment and Management (SAM), the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS 17), and other relevant regulatory standards and/or principles for the Insurance industry
