SUMMARY:
Actuarial Supervisor

POSITION INFO:

Actuarial Supervisor

Sandton

Financial Reporting:

Ensure that valuation results are produced accurately, with appropriate supporting commentary.
Ownership of the custom-built Prophet models and other models, for calculation of liabilities, embedded value and capital for the Malawi Life entity.
Monthly management reporting, forecasting, business planning, biannual IFRS and MCEV reporting as well as capital reporting to regulators.

Capital Management:

Calculation and/or review of regulatory and internal solvency positions for the Malawi Life entity.

Bonus Declarations:

Ensure that the underlying calculations that feed into bonus recommendations are produced on time and are accurate.

Business Planning / Forecasting:

Support the team that provides forecasting and ongoing monitoring (outside of valuation periods) of the financial impacts of the OMEM strategy

Business Support:

Support businesses in maximising growth within a robust risk framework.

IFRS17:

Support the Malawi Life entity and the IFRS17 project team to ensure successful implementation of the new reporting standards.

Team management

Manage a small team of junior and mid-level staff that will support you in producing actuarial content for the Malawi life entity

General:

Ensure that all actuarial processes are performed as efficiently as possible, finding and delivering continuous process improvement and standardisation opportunities as well as ensuring processes are performed with appropriate controls.

Requirements:

Actuarial student with 11 Actuarial exams as a minimum
Four (4) years’ experience
Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels
