Area Sales Executive - Critical Care & Nutrition

SUMMARY:
An exciting career opportunity exists for an Area Sales Executive (Hospital Care) based in Mpumalanga.  Only a qualified Dietician will be considered for this role.

POSITION INFO:
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Mpumalanga, reporting to the Regional Sales & Operations Manager (Gauteng).
The successful incumbent will work with clinicians, nursing staff and allied health to promote Hospital Care related products.
This will include identifying customer needs and opportunities, presenting product information, and utilizing sales experience to achieve revenue targets.
In addition, the ASE will work with other Sales Specialists, Clinical Educators and Marketing to ensure successful product training and implementations, with a focus on both growing and maintaining the territory.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide supportive services to all allocated customers in assigned geographical areas.
Promote and sell products to all allocated customers as per defined strategies within assigned geographical areas.
Develop strong professional relationships with all the customers in the assigned geographical area.
Attend industry symposiums, congresses, and conferences (this includes functions scheduled during evenings and over weekends).
Develop an area plan based on the division's strategy - ensuring strategic customers and products are included.
Pre-call planning should be completed prior to each call and must include call objectives, feedback required from previous call, etc.
Report on all relevant market information: changes in customer requirements, competitor activities, complaints, etc.
Ensure samples and marketing material are always in a pristine and presentable condition.
Identify customer Training needs and plan training sessions accordingly.
Ensure product and concept knowledge (Critical Care & Nutrition, etc.) is up to always date.
Ensure knowledge of competitor products and relevant guidelines are updated regularly.
Ensure knowledge of clinical data is always up to date - incorporate publications and articles during daily sales calls.
Tests based on product and concept knowledge will be written a minimum of twice per year and pass rate of 80% must be met.

Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:
Completed 4 years’ Dietetics Degree - this is essential
Proven experience with a minimum of 2 - 3 years in medical sales
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a large geographical region.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the region
