Assistant Accountant

Our client, a fresh produce retail supplier and exporter is looking to employ an Assistant Accountant to support their Finance Team. This position is based at Head Office in the Klapmuts region.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Agri & Foods Invoicing

• Create Pro-Forma Invoice
• Create Invoice
• Confirm invoices on Client Portal
• Credit Notes
• Account Sales (Products to market)

Import documentation (confidential, Levies, crates) on Xero

• Agri: Check Sales + Review Import Tables
• Import Credit Notes + Allocate credit notes manually
• Finalize FOB Values
• Import Manual Journals (Commission)
• Import Grower Payout (Bills)
• Stock Management op Share Point (Raw Products)
• Recon Grower Payouts
• Check, Verify & Complete Staging Model - Manual Journals (Commission + Staging + Chep)
• Import Grower Payout (Bills)
• Check Profit & Loss after Imports (Channel Allocation)

New systems (In-house training)

• Implementation of new systems/system changes
• Feedback on new systems/system changes
• Liaise on new systems/system changes with BFI, Nanodog ect for program efficiency
• Update Cashflow with grower payouts and customer receipts (local cost model)

Statements

• Send statements to retailers weekly & monthly & follow-up with e-mail
• Send statements to general debtors weekly & monthly & follow-up with e-mail
• Upload statement on Client Portals
• Receipting: Allocate payment against remittance
• Handle all debtors’ queries.
• Liaise with Sales
• Maintain debtors’ profiles

Prepare Grower advices for payment
Prepare and submit cost model for management accounts
Assist commercial and finance accountants with ad hoc tasks as required

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant degree and SAIPA Articles
• Minimum 2 years'' experience within a fresh produce environment
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
• Experience with software packages including Xero
• Critical thinker with strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Multi-tasker who deals well with pressure
• Attention to detail and great sense of urgency
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

SALARY

R30 000 (negotiable depending on experience)
