Financial Modelling Specialist – Power the Future of Mining Finance! – Johannesburg

Job Description:
Are you a numbers-driven strategist with a passion for mining finance? We’re looking for a Financial Modelling Specialist who can turn data into powerful insights and build robust models that shape high-stakes decisions across the business. This is your chance to make a tangible impact in a dynamic industry while working with key stakeholders, from investors to government agencies.

POSITION INFO:
Duties:

Build and refine short-term and long-term financial models (including life-of-mine models).
Partner with operations to conduct benchmarking and process analyses.
Analyze budgets, forecasts, income statements, and key financial data.
Deliver actionable insights for cost-saving and performance improvements.
Create reports that highlight financial risks and opportunities for leadership.
Forecast future performance through in-depth financial and business studies.
Maintain models that meet investor and sponsor standards for infrastructure and project finance.
Support new business bids, project financing, and strategic investment planning.
Represent the company in meetings with financiers, legal teams, and regulators.

Qualifications:

BSc in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
BBusSc or BCom in Financial Mathematics, Accounting, or Statistics. (Advantageous)

Skills Required:

Detail-obsessed with a sharp analytical mind.
A confident communicator who can engage all levels of stakeholders.
Independent, solutions-oriented, and proactive.
Passionate about turning complex data into clear business value.

Experience:

7+ years of hands-on financial modelling experience, ideally in mining.
Deep expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
Strong grasp of financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax compliance.
Excel wizardry with top-notch modelling and reporting skills.
Background in infrastructure or project finance in mining.
Management or team leadership experience.
