Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and enhance the day-to-day billing and collections function to improve operational effectiveness
• Monitor performance metrics, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical solutions to improve outcomes
• Review and align information across multiple systems to ensure data integrity and operational accuracy
• Oversee reconciliations and ensure accurate reporting to support month-end billing activities
• Collaborate with technology and project teams to address system-related challenges and support process enhancements
• Establish and maintain robust controls to minimise operational risk and ensure compliance across billing processes
• Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operational delivery
• Develop and implement initiatives aimed at improving payment collection success rates
• Lead departmental planning, workload allocation, and resource management to support business objectives
• Investigate operational incidents and implement preventative measures to reduce recurring issues
• Provide operational expertise and support on strategic and system-related initiatives
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement through process refinement and innovation

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Degree or diploma in Business Management, Operations, Finance, or a related field advantageous
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong systems capability
• Strong reporting and analytical ability

• Demonstrated experience managing operational teams within a billing, payments, or collections environment
• Strong background within financial services or insurance environments
• Working knowledge of debit order systems, payment processing, and collections strategies
• Experience with authenticated collections solutions such as DebiCheck
• Exposure to digital payment environments and billing optimisation practices
• Strong capability in data interpretation and reporting tools such as SQL, QlikView, or similar platforms
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting operational insights
• Proven experience in process improvement, controls, and risk mitigation
• Exposure to project delivery and systems implementation initiatives

• Strong leadership and team management capability
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across various stakeholder groups
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical thinking
• Ability to interpret complex operational data and convert insights into action
• High attention to detail with strong reconciliation skills
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to work independently
• Strong understanding of operational risk, governance, and controls
