Business Development Manager Johannesburg | Logistics & Supply Chain Annual CTC: Up to R750,000 + Commission CF Consulting is supporting a leading logistics and supply chain services business in the appointment of a Business Development Manager, based in Johannesburg. This is a senior commercial opportunity for an established business development professional with a strong industry network, a proven record of winning new business and the commercial maturity to engage with senior decision-makers. The successful candidate will be expected to generate new revenue, develop strategic accounts and convert commercial opportunities into profitable, long-term client relationships. The opportunity You will be responsible for driving business development across logistics, warehousing and related supply chain services. This is a hands-on commercial role for someone who understands the market, knows how to open doors and can take ownership of the sales process from prospecting through to close. Key responsibilities include: Identifying and securing new business opportunities across logistics, warehousing, freight and supply chain services. Leveraging an established industry network to access decision-makers and accelerate deal flow. Developing and executing targeted business development strategies across key industries. Managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through to commercial negotiation and deal closure. Structuring commercially viable proposals that protect margin while remaining competitive. Growing existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling and service expansion. Building relationships with C-suite executives, procurement leaders and senior operations stakeholders. Maintaining a healthy commercial pipeline and delivering against revenue and new business targets. Working closely with operations and commercial teams to ensure successful client onboarding and service delivery. What we are looking for 7–10 years of proven business development, sales or key account management experience within logistics, warehousing, freight or supply chain. A demonstrable track record of winning significant new business and consistently achieving revenue targets. An established network of client relationships and decision-makers within logistics, manufacturing, retail, FMCG, mining or related sectors. Strong commercial negotiation and deal structuring capabilities. Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders. The confidence and credibility to engage with senior executives and negotiate at a strategic level. Strong understanding of logistics operations, pricing, margins and competitive positioning. A self-starter who operates independently and takes ownership of commercial results. Experience in contract logistics, warehousing, intermodal, container depot or clearing and forwarding will be highly advantageous. A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field is preferred but not essential where experience and results demonstrate the required capability.
