JOB SUMMARY:
Business Development Manager/Head - Substations

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client, based in the Johannesburg East Rand, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager in the Construction Industry –/Substations.

#Must have Substation Experience and valid SACPCMP certification.

# Must have knowledge on Transformers, Switchgears and Transmission Lines.

Qualifications and experience:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering, Construction and/or Maintenance environment.

Minimum equivalent BSc. Engineering Degree plus Commercial Qualification

5 years’ experience in a leadership role, with some executive experience.

Proven track record and experience in leading a team in a highly complex and multidisciplinary technical environment.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop plans to increase market share and revenue
  • Ensure customer relationships are maintained and constantly managed
  • Define marketing plan with Top management approval and execute on this plan to improve company image and exposure
  • Detailed costing of solutions and financial modelling in developing the deal for presentation to the client
  • Assist in Research and Development of new technologies and technical solutions to enhance business offering
  • Preparation of tender and proposal documentation
  • Preparation of deal and sales presentations surrounding projects and portfolios
  • Attending business development client meetings acting in the role of technical expert and sales support to the Commercial Team, including Operations Executive and Chief Executive Officer
  • Solving of a variety of ad hoc client and internal requests, providing quick turnaround times
  • Liaising with Operations team during transition of projects into the execution phase
  • Supervision of commercial staff members.
  • Improve commercial procedures to make the organization more efficient and effective
  • To support the CEO in driving the strategy to meet potential investors, company stakeholders and employee needs.
  • Work with the executive team and determine values and mission, and plan for short- and long-term goals
  • Report frequently on sales and commercial activity, glean competitor activity and report regularly on market share and competitor analysis/activities
  • Responsible for departments business, financial and operational plans, and reports
  • Improve existing systems and policies within the commercial department
  • Create a department that will assist the company to financially grow and flourish
