Chief Executive Officer

SUMMARY:
Our client seeks a visionary and driven CEO who will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight in driving large-scale infrastructure and construction development initiatives. Central to the role is building a company that will promote the company as a preferred investment location for industrial development and logistics services for inward and outward bound trade. The CEO also provides executive support to the Company Board and its committees. The CEO is entrusted with building a well-capacitated and ethical organisation with a fair and progressive corporate culture.

Requirements: Applicants must be in possession of:

• A valid Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Property Management/Economics or related studies
• Masters (NQF Level 9 Post Graduate qualification) in Business Administration/ Management/ Economics/Civil Engineering/Property Management or Equivalent.
• Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) will be added advantage
• Applicants must have ten (10) years’ experience in infrastructure Development Management, investment promotion or comparable environment
• Experience in execution of large scale industrial/commercial and/or mixed commercial development will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Property management and capital raising will be an added advantage.
• Five (5) years of experience at Executive Management level

POSITION INFO:
Duties:

• Reporting to the board, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for: Provision of strategic and operational leadership to the company team, ensuring effective business management through development and implementation of strategies, policies, processes, procedures and systems to achieve the company’s objectives.
• As Accounting Officer of the company, the CEO shall monitor and report to the Board on the overall progress and results against strategic and operational objectives and initiate courses of action for improvement where required.
• The CEO is the chief liaison between its subsidiaries.
• He/She is empowered to establish effective control and coordination mechanisms for all operations and activities.
• This includes supporting the development of strategic sectors of the economy in line with provincial economic and industrial policies, Providing leadership in catalytic economic development projects, increasing regional economic collaboration, improving export performance and attracting domestic and foreign investment.
• The candidate should have proven proficiency in project preparation, project promotion, investment promotion, financial planning, resource mobilisation and capital project execution.
