A leading mining organization is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. POSITION INFO:
Our client, a well-established player in the mining industry, is looking to appoint a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to partner with the CEO and Board in steering the financial strategy of the organization. The CFO will oversee the full finance function, ensuring robust financial governance, regulatory compliance, and optimal capital allocation across operations.

This role offers the opportunity to operate at a highly strategic level, influencing long-term growth, financial sustainability, and operational efficiency within a capital-intensive environment. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing finance team while ensuring best-in-class financial reporting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic financial leadership and partner with the CEO and executive team to drive business growth.
Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and treasury management.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, governance frameworks, and financial controls.
Lead capital planning and financial evaluation of major mining projects and investments.
Manage financial risk, optimize cost structures, and support operational efficiencies.
Lead and develop the finance team while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with the Board, investors, and external partners.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:
- Chartered Accountant – CA(SA) (non-negotiable).
Experience:
- Extensive senior financial leadership experience.
- Strong exposure to the mining, resources, or heavy industrial sector.
- Proven experience operating at an executive level and partnering with senior leadership.
- Demonstrated experience managing large finance teams and complex financial environments.
- Experience with capital projects, financial modelling, and strategic planning.
Skills:
- Strong financial reporting and governance expertise.
- Advanced financial modelling and strategic analysis capabilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
