We are looking for an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the Digital & IT strategy across Southern Africa, ensuring technology remains closely aligned with business objectives and the wider Group strategy.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially minded technology executive who can combine strategic IT leadership, digital transformation, data & AI, cybersecurity and operational excellence to deliver measurable business value.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute the regional Digital & IT strategy in alignment with the broader Group technology agenda. Lead digital transformation initiatives and ensure successful implementation of global technology programmes across the region. Partner with senior business leaders to identify technology opportunities and deliver solutions that support growth and operational efficiency. Drive the adoption of data, AI, automation and emerging technologies to improve decision-making and business performance. Oversee IT operations, cybersecurity, data privacy, governance, risk management and business continuity. Manage the regional IT roadmap, ensuring projects are delivered effectively, on time and within agreed budgets. Oversee IT budgets, resources, vendors and service delivery, driving efficiency and continuous improvement. Support business growth, including mergers and acquisitions, through technology due diligence and integration. Build, develop and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering innovation, collaboration and continuous learning. Establish strong relationships with Group leadership, business units, technology partners and key external stakeholders. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or a related discipline . An MBA or advanced qualification would be advantageous. 8-10+ years' senior IT leadership experience , ideally within a multinational or complex organisation. Proven experience in IT strategy, digital transformation and technology operations . Strong knowledge of data strategy, AI, cybersecurity and emerging technologies . Demonstrated experience managing significant IT budgets, projects and technology teams. Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to translate technology into measurable business outcomes. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills. Experience working across multicultural, geographically diverse and matrix environments. Strategic, decisive and adaptable leadership style, with a strong focus on people development and innovation.
