A well-established financial services conglomerate seeks an experienced and highly motivated Chief Investment Officer to join one of their subsidiaries within the fund management space. This role will be based in Johannesburg East.

A well-established financial services conglomerate seeks an experienced and highly motivated Chief Investment Officer to join one of their subsidiaries within the fund management space. This role will be based in Johannesburg East.

The purpose of this role will be to set the strategic focus for the investment direction of the organization and its portfolio investee companies, as well as in capital raising for investing
activities from clients and investors.

Duties will include but not limited to:

Lead the investment management team in establishing and implementing strategies and processes

Provide strategic insight and direction to the business related to investments

Lead investments, complete all fund transactions, and effectively maintain portfolio development

Strategy of funds

Implement and deliver approved investment strategy of clients committed capital into qualifying entities

The incumbent will have strong business process and continuity experience, a strong business acumen and someone constantly working to innovate and streamline processes and procedures for optimal departmental performance.

Education:

Post Graduate degree in investment management or related

MBA will be highgly advantageous

Skills & Experience:

8 to 9 years'' experience in investments management is non-negotiable

Proven track record of successful investment management and decision making

Understanding and proficiency in asset allocation and equity investments

Knowledge of types of investments and markets

In depth experience of South African investment market

Strong understanding of valuation, accounting, and economic principles

Strong people management skills

Strong computer literacy

Strong personality

Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment

Team player

Someone who are prepared to work extended hours when need be
