This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading organisation operating within the mining and engineering environment.

The successful candidate will combine a strong finance and costing foundation with hands-on commercial expertise. This is not a traditional finance role — you will operate at the intersection of finance, customers, contracts, tenders and commercial strategy, playing a key role in driving profitable business.

POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description: Join a well-established organisation operating within the mining, engineering and construction environment , where commercial excellence, customer relationships and profitability are critical to business success. As the Commercial Manager , you will take ownership of key commercial activities across the business, combining your financial expertise with a strong understanding of tenders, contracts, costing and customer negotiations . This is not a traditional finance position. You will work closely with customers, Finance, Operations and other key stakeholders to assess commercial opportunities, negotiate favourable agreements, manage commercial risk and ensure that contracts and projects deliver the required financial returns. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee tenders, proposals and commercial submissions . Lead and support customer and contract negotiations . Evaluate pricing, margins, costing and overall commercial viability. Analyse and manage P&L performance and profitability . Review product and project costing, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) . Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks. Partner with Finance and Operations to improve margins and commercial performance. Provide financial and commercial analysis to support strategic business decisions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders. Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom degree or higher\/relevant commercial or financial qualification. Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial role . Strong combination of finance and commercial experience . Experience within Mining, Engineering, Construction or a related technical environment . Proven tender management experience. Strong customer and contract negotiation exposure. Solid understanding of costing, BOMs and P&L management . Experience working on SAP or Syspro . Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability and negotiation skills. Ability to operate effectively in a commercially driven and fast-paced environment.
