Must be a Compliance Officer for Bonds, Equities, Equity Derivatives and Derivatives Market; Money Laundering

Must have passed the JSE Compliance Officer Exam for Equities/bond and or derivatives

• Assist the board of directors in ensuring compliance with the various Acts, Rules and Directives (JSE and FSCA).
• Implement the resources, systems and procedures to promote and monitor compliance by company and its employees with various Acts, Rules and Directives.
• Report any breaches
• Ensure that the contents of the JSE Gazettes is communicated to and understood by the relevant employees.
• Ensure that the personal account trading policy is complied with by all employees.
• Ensure that company has a surplus capital position daily and report to Surveillance with reasons for deficits.
• Submit the monthly Financial Resource Requirements (capital adequacy) to the JSE.
• Review daily compliance reports from the JSE.
• Ensure that employees comply with the Internal rules for FICA compliance and Anti Money Laundering Policy.
• Ensure that on the job training is done.
• Setup annual training by a Compliance Consulting Company.
• Review the dally changes to client accounts and new account openings
• Sign off client account openings together with Head of Operations and Stockbroker in control and sign off mandates.
• Ensure all agreements are reviewed and signed off.
• Review the unverified client list and ensure that no client accounts are unverified.
  • Ensure thatthe FICA review process is ongoing and compliance in terms of the Compliance and Risk Management Programme
  • Compile and review the company''s risk register together with the heads of divisions and CEO and ensure that risks are mitigated and are aligned with strategy of the company and the group.
  • Ensure management and staff are updated on changes in legislation and changes in the regulatory environment of financial markets.
  • Ensure company has policies and procedures in place and are in line with the group''s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Liaising with Compliance Toolbox to ensure FSCA compliance is adhered to.
    • Dealing with Internal and external auditors.
    • Co-ordinating and assisting with compliance with BEE codes and BEE audit.
    • Relationship management with service providers (Custody Service Provider, Custodian, Investec, JSE, IRESS etc)
    • Ensure compliance (together with management) with the JSE Stockbroker Enterprise Development Programme and ASISA Stockbroker development programme.
    • Assist/Co-ordinate adhoc projects.
    • Report any Compliance and Risk issues to Group Risk and Compliance
