POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description A well-established organisation operating within a demanding industrial environment is looking for a hands-on and resilient Cost Accountant to join its finance team in Rustenburg . The successful candidate will play an integral role in product costing, cost analysis, inventory controls, variance analysis and profitability reporting , working closely with operational stakeholders to understand cost drivers and identify opportunities to improve margins and efficiencies. This role requires someone who can hold their own in a tough, high-energy environment and who enjoys being close to the operational side of the business. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain accurate product costing and cost structures. Analyse actual costs against standard and budgeted costs. Investigate and report on cost and production variances . Monitor inventory, production and operational costs. Perform product, margin and profitability analysis . Identify cost-saving and operational efficiency opportunities. Assist with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting. Maintain strong costing and inventory controls. Support month-end and year-end reporting processes. Assist with internal and external audits. Partner with operational teams to improve cost visibility and financial performance. Job Experience and Skills Required Qualifications: BCom Accounting \/ Finance qualification preferred. Completed articles advantageous. Strong relevant experience will also be considered. Experience: Approximately 5-10 years' relevant finance and costing experience . Strong product costing experience is essential. Experience within Mining, Manufacturing or FMCG highly advantageous. Previous audit exposure or an audit-trained background beneficial. Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Commercially and operationally minded. Bilingual with strong communication skills. Hands-on and highly detail-orientated. Resilient with the ability to work under pressure. Confident engaging with finance and operational stakeholders.
