Costing Clerk

A well-established market leader in the Logistics industry is looking for a Costing Clerk to be based at their office in Kempton Park. 

Salary: Basic R10000 per month

Responsibilities 

• Review and ensure that daily receipts have been recorded correctly. 
• Match deliveries to invoices, record these on the tracker file and follow up on short deliveries. 
• Review data captured on diesel depot system to ensure accuracy and take correction action on discrepancies.
• To monitor, reconcile and control the diesel tracking system to ensure procedures are followed and resolve investigations for diesel variance analysis timeously. 
• Examine the levels of diesel to determine shortages and loss. 
• Identify ways to improve efficiency for diesel control. 
• Plan and conduct stocktake of diesel at the fleet premises. 
• Inspect and ensure completed documents for accuracy and completeness. 
• Continuous costing improvements on adhoc projects. 
• Develop a filing system for all diesel related documentation.
• Generate month end transaction and stock reports.
• Prepare monthly diesel invoicing file with COS and profit calculations. 
• Prepare monthly inventory journals. 
• Maintain customer database.  

Requirements

• Completed or in progress costing or financial qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a costing role in a fuel, logistics or manufacturing industry. 
• Advanced excel skills
• Experience in inventory systems and reconciliations.  
• A sound understanding of variance analysis.
