Customer Order Specialist

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a highly organised and proactive Customer Order Specialist to manage the full end-to-end customer order process. This role acts as the central coordination point between customers, sales, production and logistics to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.

The Customer Order Specialist takes ownership of the entire order lifecycle, from order receipt through to delivery, ensuring that customers receive their orders in full and within the company’s 24-hour dispatch target.

This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong internal and external relationships, and takes a hands-on approach to ensuring exceptional customer service. Ideally candidates from Manufacturing and Distribution (Hospitality Products)/ FMCG would best fit this role and would be preferred.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end customer order process, from order receipt to final delivery.
• Capture and process orders accurately using the company’s ERP system.
• Coordinate closely with sales, production and warehouse teams to ensure orders are fulfilled within dispatch timelines.
• Monitor stock availability and proactively flag stock shortages.
• Review production schedules and escalate where necessary to ensure orders are prioritised and delivered on time.
• Track deliveries and ensure orders reach customers complete and on schedule.
• Manage returns and resolve order-related issues quickly and effectively.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, building strong relationships and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding order status, delays or potential challenges.
• Work across multiple departments to drive accountability and ensure customers receive their stock as promised.

• Matric is a minimum requirement
• Previous experience in order management, customer service or supply chain coordination
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Exposure to manufacturing, distribution, FMCG or supply chain environments is advantageous
• Comfortable working closely with production and warehouse teams
• Strong administrative and coordination skills
