Depot Manager

Job Function

The successful incumbent is responsible to manage the processes, teams, and resources accountable for in-bound and out-bound logistics in a Warehouse, contributing to operational effectiveness, client/customer satisfaction, reduced risk, profitability, and compliance to relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Responsible for the site safety program and ensuring that the environment supports the safety of all employees.

Minimum requirements required

• Relevant Bachelor`s Degrees and/or Advanced Diplomas (NQF Level 7)
• 5 years of Warehouse/Inventory management experience
• Minimum 5 years in an FMCG environment in a senior capacity
• Excellent leadership skills
• Experience in a dynamic, high-volume operating environment
• Budgetary and financial skills
• Ability to manage projects
• Experience in the chemical or dangerous goods sector would be advantageous

Key performance areas

• Oversee daily operations of the business or organization.
• Develop a business budget and cost management.
• Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business.
• Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.
• Provide direct management of key functional managers in the business unit.
• Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
• Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the unit's offerings to customers.
• Engage in key or targeted customer activities.
• Oversee key hiring and talent development programs.
• Evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent.
• Communicate strategy and results to the business employees.
