SUMMARY:
Deputy Director – Governance and Institutional Performance (GIP)

POSITION INFO:

Are you a skilled governance professional with a strong understanding of Public sector processes? We are seeking a Deputy Director to coordinate and oversee governance and institutional performance across public entities.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate approval of Strategic Plans (SPs) and Annual Performance Plans (APPs)
Oversee entities’ Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Estimates of National Expenditure (ENE)
Facilitate appointment of Boards/CEOs and manage board vacancies
Coordinate institutional reviews and compliance with the PFMA and National Treasury Regulations
Support policy formulation, legislative drafting, and evaluation processes

Minimum Requirements:

At least 3 years’ experience in governance and institutional performance
Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury Regulations, and relevant legislation
Understanding of corporate governance, monitoring public entity performance, and strategic planning

Skills & Competencies:

Report writing and policy evaluation
Legislative drafting and interpretation
Financial and performance management
People management and team leadership

Personal Attributes:

Analytical and innovative thinker
Team player with excellent communication skills
All shortlisted candidates will undergo two pre-enty assesments
