SUMMARY:
Deputy Director: Industry and Environment (12 Month Contract)

POSITION INFO:

Purpose

Support Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) in biological processes to promote sustainable production, and improve water and wastewater management within the green economy.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the growth of the Industrial and Environmental Bioeconomy.
Support the translation of RDI outputs into practical applications.
Assist in achieving Operational and Annual Performance Plan targets.
Support strategic international cooperation initiatives.
Provide input on biotechnology policy and strategic matters.

Knowledge

National System of Innovation and relevant policies.
Industrial and environmental innovation frameworks.
PFMA and Public Service Regulations (PSR).

Skills & Attributes

Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Project management ability.
Analytical, diplomatic, and able to work independently and in a team.

Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in the biotechnology sector or related field.
NQF 6 in Life Sciencer / Technology Management
Bachelors degree qualification is an added advantage
