Director of Conciliation and Arbitration

SUMMARY:
Our client, a respected institution in the labour relations space, is looking to appoint a Director of Conciliation and Arbitration to lead and manage the delivery of high-quality dispute resolution services.

POSITION INFO:
Purpose of the job:

The Director of Conciliation and Arbitration will perform functions that are conferred by or in terms of the Labour Relations Act or any other law. The candidate will be required to supervise the commission staff, manage and direct activities of the commission and provide leadership towards the achievement of the organisation’s mission, vision, strategy, and its annual goals and objectives. The candidate will work with the Chairperson, to enable the Governing Body to fulfill its governance function

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Operational planning and Management
• Financial Management
• HR Management
• Stakeholder relationships and reporting
• Leadership
• People Management
• Departmental Operational Plan

• Relevant master’s degree in business management or field of law or related. (knowledge of employment laws would be advantageous)
• 8 - 10 years’ Experience at a Senior Level.
• Solid knowledge of the Labour Relations Act.
• Hands-on experience conducting or overseeing. conciliation, mediation, and arbitration processes.
• Strong understanding of procedural and substantive labour law principles
• Experience managing HR functions including workforce. planning, performance management, and compliance.
