Electrical Sales Engineer

POSITION INFO:

This role is suited to a technically strong and commercially driven professional who can combine electrical engineering knowledge with business development and sales expertise . The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing key customer relationships and providing technically sound solutions that meet customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers . Identify and pursue new sales and business development opportunities . Promote and sell electrical products, equipment, systems and engineering solutions. Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions . Prepare and deliver technical proposals, quotations and commercial offers . Interpret electrical specifications, drawings and customer requirements. Conduct customer visits, technical meetings and product presentations. Develop sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets . Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations in collaboration with technical and commercial teams. Follow up on quotations and actively manage the sales pipeline . Negotiate commercial terms and support the closing of sales. Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and customer information. Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts. Work closely with engineering, procurement, project management and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery. Provide technical support to customers throughout the sales and project lifecycle . Attend industry events, exhibitions and customer presentations when required. Assist with contract negotiations and ensure that customer requirements are clearly understood. Build long-term partnerships with key customers and stakeholders. Achieve agreed sales, gross margin and business development targets . Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. 3-5+ years' experience in technical sales, electrical engineering, business development or a similar role. Proven track record in B2B technical sales . Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and equipment. Experience preparing technical and commercial quotations . Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of sales processes. Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills. Strong customer relationship management capabilities. Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into practical technical solutions. Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to customers. South African electrical industry experience would be advantageous. Please send your cv to
