Executive Director. Business School

Salary range and position information:

1. R1.5 to R1.8m annually (CTC).
2. 80% fractional post (Negotiable)
3. Annual leave: 20 days per annum.

Essential qualifications and experience for position:

1. PhD in an economics, innovation, management, technology, engineering, or manufacturing related discipline. Client will consider PdD (WIP)
2. Minimum five years of management experience leading an academic department or a related institution
3. Substantial manufacturing experience in South Africa and internationally
4. Academic publication, teaching and supervision record that would qualify the person to be appointed as an Associate Professor or Professor in a leading South African university

Role

1. Manage staff to ensure effective service delivery across core functional areas
2. Report into and take direction from:
3. a) The appointed trustees
4. b) The Advisory Board
5. c) The Dean of the Academic Institution in terms of course marketing, and delivery
6. Ensure the Business School’s academic standards on all courses are maintained
7. Teach at least one MBA elective
8. Teach at least one Executive Short Course
9. Initiate and lead a set of annual public seminars on manufacturing
10. Supervise selection of MBA dissertations
11. Build a niche PhD programme
12. Present at a minimum of one international conference annually
