SUMMARY:
Our client in the Pathology Sector has an EE opportunity available for an Executive Director - NICD in the Eastern Suburbs of Johannesburg.  This will be a FTC for 2 years.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• MBCHB
• Additional post graduate degree in public health/
  communicable disease/pathology OR
• PHD in Medical Natural Science
• Registration with HPCSA
• In 12 -15 years with special training (must specialised) in pathology or communicable diseases (FPath)So they must of submitted a dissertation with a speciality (solid research

  -           Grant applications

  -           Manage research programmes (solid research experience)

  -           Disaster Planning strategies

  -           Managed budgets and staff

  -           Committee and forum representation

• Provide strategic direction of surveillance and
  monitoring of communicable diseases within South
  Africa to ensure the provision of comprehensive
  and accurate data for provision to the Department
  of Health
• Oversees the implementation of suitable infectious
  diseases disaster planning strategies and systems
  for the Department of Health
• Identify and manage research programmes of
  the Institute to ensure alignment with the Public
  Health mission and addresses any issues related
  to local and international health issues
• Serves on various committees and forums,
  including World Health Programmes, National Advisory Group on lmmunisation, AIDS Advisory
  Committees
• Oversees the process of grant application and
  canvassing of various bodies for funds to ensure
  generation of sufficient research funds to allow
  the NICD to achieve its objectives
