JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager: Facilities, the Facilities Manager will plan and manage the operation and maintenance of Ithala’s facilities and plants to prolong their life cycle and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Facilities Manager will:

Conduct building and garden maintenance.
Manage and maintain transport services.
Manage cleaning services.
Manage physical assets.
Keep assets register accurate.
Keep accurate records of maintenance cost.
Manage budget.
Manage service level agreements.
Manage human resources.

The following minimum requirements should be met in order to be considered:

Qualifications:

National Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Building/Mechanical/Civil/Quantity Surveying.
Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Business Management/Administration is advantageous.
Professional/candidate registration with SAFMA or similar professional registration body will be advantageous.

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in facilities management/contract supervision/project management of which 2 years should have been in managing a team.

Requisite Functional Competencies:

Knowledge of Facilities Management Software and Ms Projects and micro / win Q.S. packages.
Ability to identity all maintenance issues.
Good technical skills.
Technical proficiency in the integration of architectural and engineering drawings and documentation.
Budget process and costing techniques.
Computer literacy, i.e Ms Word and Spreadsheet, Crystal Report Writer, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of Ithala’s Code of Business Conduct.
Knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to Property Management.
Ability to work extended hours, days, and weekends on an occasional basis.
Valid code B Driver’s licence.
