Finance Manager

SUMMARY:
A high-growth financial services business is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the full finance function within its South African operation.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused role suited to a qualified finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business, leading a finance team, and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced environment. The role blends strong technical accounting with strategic insight and stakeholder engagement.

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
Lead and oversee the full finance function, including:
Financial reporting
FP&A, budgeting and forecasting
Month-end close and reconciliations
Tax and regulatory compliance
Accounts payable and financial controls
Act as a subject matter expert for finance and operational systems; support system adoption and process improvement
Produce high‑quality financial insights to influence business strategy and decision-making
Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors and regulators
Maintain and strengthen financial integrity through effective controls and governance
Engage with external stakeholders, including funders and professional advisors
Support treasury, funding programmes, and due diligence processes
Monitor financial performance, identify cost efficiencies, and assess key business risks
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while partnering closely with operational leaders

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 4 years post‑articles experience in a Finance Manager role within a commercial environment
Strong working knowledge of IFRS and South African tax principles
Experience in retail or financial services is advantageous but not essential
Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills; exposure to ERP systems (e.g. Netsuite) is an advantage
Proven ability to operate in a fast‑changing, performance‑driven environment
High attention to detail with strong organisational and time‑management skills
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and contributing at a strategic level

Qualification:
BCom Honours degree with SAICA articles completed
Qualified CA (SA) preferred
