SUMMARY:
A reputable organisation based in Gauteng is seeking to appoint a Financial Accountant on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of the role being made permanent based on performance and business needs. The successful incumbent will hold a B.Com degree in Accounting and possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to general ledger accounting and balance sheet management.
This opportunity is well-suited to a meticulous, analytical professional who thrives in a structured yet dynamic environment and is committed to delivering excellence within the finance function.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with accounting standards.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month-end closing processes.
Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and conduct variance analysis to guide business decision-making.
Assist in audit preparations and facilitate smooth year-end financial processes.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and statutory reporting requirements.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

B.Com Accounting degree (essential).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant or equivalent role.
Proficient in general ledger management and balance sheet reconciliation.
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to work independently and meet tight reporting deadlines.
