POSITION INFO:

About the Opportunity:
A forward-thinking organisation, operating in the renewable energy and environmental space, is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of its finance function. This role is ideally suited to a technically strong professional who is comfortable working in a fast-moving, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the full financial close cycle, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
Manage core finance functions, such as cash, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data, including reconciliations and trial balances
Take responsibility for cash flow management and treasury activities, including banking relationships
Prepare detailed financial reports, insights, and performance metrics for senior leadership and Board review
Handle group consolidations, inter-company transactions, and variance analysis across multiple entities
Ensure adherence to IFRS, tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements
Lead the external audit process and serve as the primary liaison with auditors
Identify opportunities for process improvement and strengthen financial controls and risk management

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (essential)
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles

Experience Required:

At least 3 years’ post-articles experience in a similar capacity
3–5 years of experience managing and leading a team
Exposure to group structures or cross-border operations (African experience is advantageous)
Experience within project-based, construction, or complex inter-company environments is beneficial

Effective leadership and team management abilities
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage deadlines in a high-pressure environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
