FINANCIAL CONTROLLER Midrand ATTENTION GRABBER Take the lead in a pivotal finance role where you will oversee the full financial function for the Group, drive financial reporting and controls, and provide meaningful insight to support business decisions. COMPANY AND JOB DESCRIPTION Our client in the business development and finance sector is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the Group's full financial function. Reporting to the Cluster Finance Director, you will lead financial operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, controls and statutory compliance while managing and developing the finance team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, improving processes and reporting, and partnering with Finance, Sales, Production, Operations and Settlements to support business performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and manage month-end and year-end deliverables. Lead budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis and financial analysis to support business decision-making. Implement and monitor effective financial controls and ensure compliance with Group controls, statutory requirements and regulatory returns. Review and approve month-end journals and general ledger reconciliations and prepare accurate internal and external reports. Manage internal and external audits, SARS queries and requirements, and ad-hoc financial reporting. Improve financial processes, systems and reporting. Lead, coach and develop the finance team, ensuring clear responsibilities, performance objectives and effective communication. Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors and SARS. JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED \/ IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE CA(SA) preferred\/required; alternatively B.Com with completed articles. Minimum 5 years' experience managing a full financial function. 5+ years' experience in a senior accounting or financial management role. Proven experience managing teams and leading financial operations. Experience with accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle or NetSuite. Advanced Excel skills. Strong understanding of financial processes and accounting principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational and time-management skills. High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and manage multiple priorities under pressure. Strong leadership and team-development capabilities; process- and deadline-driven, adaptable, self-motivated and resourceful. APPLY NOW!
