Financial Controller

SUMMARY:
A leading Global Technology Company is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team. The primary objective is to execute on operational level management accounting functions.

POSITION INFO:

The Financial Controller is an advanced level role in the Management Accountants job family. The role operates at a national level in medium to advanced complexity environments.

Their primary objective is to execute on operational level management accounting functions. This includes but is not limited to: cost and revenue accounting and associated management reporting, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations, financial closing and chart of accounts management. They ensure that all accounting-related tasks are professionally executed according to company and legal requirements.

Manage monthly management accounts

These individuals oversee the general ledger and perform revenue and cost recognition processes, ensuring optimal execution on relevant systems. Cost and revenue recognition includes but is not limited to: maintaining accounting data, analyzing variances, calculating and reviewing accruals and deferrals, and formulating instructions to raise purchase orders and invoices.

Perform accounting functions and closing

The Financial Controller is responsible for administration of month-end activities, which includes the preparation and approval of month-end journal entries, reconciliation of accounts and execution of a variety of actions in the accounting system. The Financial Controller performs closing of the general ledger and sub-ledger accounts at month-end.

Manage reporting data

The Financial Controller maintains and prepares the accounting system-specific data required for statutory and management account reporting. They are also responsible for data preparation and management reporting related to cost and revenue accounting for relevant operations.

Compliance testing

These individuals assist with the implementation, control and monitoring of periodic compliance testing, contributing to the optimum use of systems to facilitate an efficient accounting process.

Required Experience:

• 4 – 6 years’ working experience,
• At least 4 years’ working experience in a related field
• Proficiency in relevant accounting system
• Relevant degree
• Post-Graduate degree preferred
