SUMMARY:

CA (SA) - Financial Controller - FMCG

POSITION INFO:
The Financial Controller (FC) is a pivotal and senior role within the finance function, and a strong second in command to the Finance Director (FD). The FC will report directly to the FD and will support the FD by overseeing the accounting and financial reporting function of the SA entity, ensuring that financial reporting is timely and compliant with IFRS and tax standards, and accounting records are appropriately maintained.

• Be a strong and competent 2IC to the FD and provide full support to the FD
• Financial reporting (management & statutory)
• Execute required transactions in SAP ERP (SAP ECC / SAP by Design)
• Budgeting & forecasting
• Tax compliance
• Overall financial control, analysis, validation and root level understanding of all lines of Income Statement
• Management and control of full trial balance and balance sheet
• Day to day management of Financial Accountant and GL Accountant

• Review and control of all financial data ensuring validity, accuracy, and completeness
• Accurate execution of all financial reporting requirements (management and statutory), on time and in full
• Planning, execution and reporting of budgeting and forecasting
• Analysis and control of balance sheet accounts
• Taxes – Ensure Income Taxes, VAT and Transfer Pricing requirements are adhered to
• Develop standard accounting procedures to improve financial operations efficiency
• Coordinate audit of annual financial statements with external auditors
• Identify internal control weaknesses and implement corrective procedures
• Ensure all financial accounting and reporting is in compliance with IFRS requirements – be the IFRS technical specialist for the SA entity
• Cross functional involvement and support as required
