Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced Financial Manager for an Engineering firm based in the Alberton area in the East Rand, who has excellent commercial and business acumen.

POSITION INFO:
Position overview:
To oversee the effective day to day administration of the finance and admin functions including the strategic alignment of the department and provide timeous and relevant financial information to stakeholders (EXCO, Board of directors, Shareholders etc) to enable effective operational and strategic decision making.

Requirements:

• BCompt or BCom accounting degree - Essential
• Completed articles - Essential
• CIMA advantageous
• Extensive Financial Management experience (5+ years)
• In depth SYSPRO knowledge preferred. Alternatively other recognized ERP System (SAP, Sage..)
• Microsoft Office proficient with especially Excel abilities
• Extensive product costing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Reporting at Exco level
• Problem solving, numerical and financial skills.
• Self driven, result driven, team player, curious, reliable, integrity.
• Commercial and business acumen
• Stable work history (tenure) showing a steady career path progression.

• Management of full accounting function and department.(Accounting, Creditors, Debtors, Cash Management, Asset Control etc.).
• Presentation of monthly management accounts within 10 working days.
• Ongoing profitability analysis of products, product lines and divisions.
• Compilation and submission of annual budget by latest February.
• Manage annual financial audit ensuring adherence to group time-lines.
• Ensuring timeous submission and adherence of regulatory reports and payments (VAT, EMP201, Provisional tax etc).
• Custodian of Employment Equity plan, BBBEE, Skills Development Plan.
• Custodian of payroll.
• Custodian of ERP system (SYSPRO).
• Custodian of IT infrastructure
• Ensuring company’s adherence to corporate governance principles (Legal compliance, segregation of duties, internal controls).
• Active participation at EXCO level to drive implementation of the company’s strategic objectives.
