SUMMARY:

Our client in Mining Industry is currently looking for a Qualified (CA) - Financial Reporting Manager and must be French speaking to join their office in Johannesburg.
Candidate can also be a DRC National but living in Kinshasa, so then operating out of the DRC

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the Job:

Oversight of finance functions of the client’s DRC entities, including management of Johannesburg finance staff members who work on DRC entities.
This includes high level review of monthly accounting packs (TB’s, general ledger, and sub-ledgers).
In terms of DRC law, Financial Statements for each statutory DRC entity need to be prepared in accordance with the local financial reporting standards, namely OHADA:

1). Preparation of OHADA financial statements – this will require specific skills and knowledge of OHADA reporting requirements, which are applicable only to the DRC.

2). The OHADA financial statements need to be prepared by February each year.

3). The appointed individual would also assist with various other DRC reporting requirements, for example budgets, management reports etc.

4). An experienced, French speaking finance resource is required to attend Board and Shareholder meetings with clients’ representatives for the DRC entities.

5). The appointed individual will assist and manage the DRC statutory audit teams to ensure the audit processes streamlined and no deadlines are missed.

6). The appointed individual’s excess capacity would be utilized to decrease the current load on the financial reporting team, and it would be beneficial if he/she assisted with ad-hoc tasks (for example payment approvals).

Key Responsibility:

· Automation of OHADA reporting process and continued review and update of French descriptions and account mapping.

· Manage the external audit process to ensure auditors report within agreed timelines.

· Preparation of DRC Central Bank monthly report of the movement of funds in the offshore Bank account for the mine.

· Preparation of Quarterly Execution Report for the Directorate of Mines.

· Preparation of Investment and financing plan for the Directorate of Mines DRC Board and Shareholder meetings:

· Ensure that meetings are scheduled on time.

· Ensure that all finance documents for the meetings are ready.

· Organize and attend the finance harmonization meeting with Gécamines and the DRC before the meetings for approvals of budget or annual financial statements Other.

Preferred Qualifications:

· South African Chartered Accountant

· Detailed knowledge of OHADA reporting

· Experience working on JDE

Willing to travel to the DRC when required.
The position would require the individual to be physically present in the DRC for approximately 8 weeks in a year, but not more than 12 weeks in a 12-month period.
Alternatively - this position will suit a DRC National living in KINSHASA
