Head of Financial Reporting

SUMMARY:
A leading financial services group is looking to appoint a Head of Reporting to lead its Group Reporting and Insights function.

POSITION INFO:
This role sits within the Group Management Finance structure and plays a critical role in shaping how financial and performance information is communicated internally and to the market.

This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for overseeing group financial reporting, market disclosures, and integrated reporting, while partnering closely with senior stakeholders including Exco, the Board, Investor Relations, Actuarial, Treasury, and Segment Finance teams.

You will lead the production of the Group’s results announcements and reporting suite, ensuring clarity, integrity, and consistency in all financial communications to both internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping how the organisation communicates its performance and strategy to the market.

Duties:

• Lead the preparation and delivery of Group financial results disclosures, including results presentations for the CEO and CFO.
• Oversee the production of internal reporting for Exco and Board-level performance management.
• Manage the annual integrated reporting suite, including the integrated report, governance report, and remuneration report.
• Support the production of climate and responsibility reporting.
• Coordinate and manage SENS announcements, AGM deliverables, and roadshow materials.
• Work closely with Investor Relations to support communication with analysts and investors during results periods and ongoing engagement.
• Lead and develop the Group reporting team, strengthening capability and delivery in a deadline-driven environment.
• Manage key relationships across segment finance teams, Group Financial Control, Actuarial, Treasury, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain and evolve Group KPI definitions and reporting frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with JSE reporting requirements, the Companies Act, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Drive improvements in reporting processes, systems, and data governance to ensure accurate and robust reporting outputs.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting
• BCom Honours / CTA
• CA(SA)

• 10–15 years’ experience in finance, ideally within financial services and a listed company environment
• Strong external reporting and financial results experience
• Exposure to Exco, Board, and Investor Relations environments
• Proven leadership ability with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
• Ability to operate across multiple functions and bring together a clear, consistent financial narrative
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
