SUMMARY:
Reporting to the CEO, this role requires a solid understanding and broad experience in IT systems

POSITION INFO:

Our client is seeking an agile and sure-footed thinker with the ability to adopt, enhance and implement techniques or methodologies that may challenge conventional thinking but are always based on critical reasoning and facts. You will be directly accountable for the effective development and delivery of IT services and support to multiple business areas across the Group.

Reporting to the CEO, this role requires a solid understanding and broad experience in IT systems and technology, coupled with strong business acumen. You will have at least 10 years of experience working and in an environment with large amounts of real-time operational metrics and applying analytical skills to enhance processes and improve ROI is essential. Essential skills will include a well above average intelligence and the ability to grasp and articulate complex problems.

Essential Requirements of the Role

• Comprehensive IT knowledge with a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the management of people, systems concepts, and methodologies.
• Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications skills especially using non-visual and remote communication methods.
• Outstanding communication abilities.
• Ability to analyse workflows and delegate goals.
• A sincere enthusiasm and interest in following current technological trends and being an ambassador for bringing productive new technologies into the business.
• Develop and maintain performance standards.
• A solid understanding of and experience applying critical reasoning in all aspects of IT problem solving, management and decision-making, and representations.
• Strong leadership, management and supervisory skills and experience.
• Solid computer hardware, software and networking experience across Windows Servers, SQL Server databases, Windows desktops and Linux servers.
• Results orientated, business-minded and target driven.
• Open to new ideas, adaptable and flexible.
• Extensive experience managing an environment consisting of the following:
• Remote and on-site workers using a variety of current communication technologies;
• VPNs, cloud and online web services, remote software management, firewalls and general IT security;
• Overseeing and implementing cybersecurity and data governance;
• Email and communication systems;
• Printing systems and large-scale printers and the management thereof;
• A diverse network encompassing local and remote hardware and software, virtualization and a combination of Windows servers and desktops with Linux and some light use of MacOS;
• The peculiarities of virtualization using both VMWare and Windows;
• A complex mix of network switches, wired and wireless routers, UPS/generators and the maintenance and testing thereof in a medium-sized business.
