Job Description: Guarding Sales Manager Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa Department: Sales & Business Development Reports To: Regional Director \/ Managing Director Job Purpose We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Guarding Sales Manager to lead and develop a team of eight sales professionals within the Johannesburg region. This role requires an individual with strong people management skills, proven sales leadership experience, and preferably extensive knowledge of the guarding and security industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing and motivating a high-performing sales team, developing strategic client relationships, and expanding the company''s guarding services footprint across Johannesburg and surrounding areas. Due to the nature of the team, the ideal candidate must possess exceptional leadership abilities and experience managing strong, assertive personalities while maintaining a culture of accountability, performance, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Team Management Lead, coach, mentor, and manage a team of 8 sales representatives. Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, and sales targets. Conduct regular performance reviews, pipeline reviews, and field coaching sessions. Drive a high-performance sales culture focused on achieving and exceeding targets. Manage team dynamics and effectively lead individuals with strong personalities and diverse selling styles. Recruit, train, and develop sales talent where required. Business Development Develop and implement sales strategies to increase guarding service revenue within Johannesburg. Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial, industrial, retail, residential, logistics, and corporate sectors. Maintain a strong personal involvement in key accounts and large-value opportunities. Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and networking. Client Engagement & Security Solutions Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site assessments. Design and present tailored guarding solutions based on client requirements and risk assessments. Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders. Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and pricing structures. Market Development Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities. Develop strategies to increase market share within the Johannesburg region. Identify emerging customer needs and recommend service enhancements. Reporting & Administration Maintain accurate forecasting and sales reporting. Monitor team performance against budget and revenue targets. Utilize CRM systems to track opportunities, sales activities, and client engagement. Prepare monthly sales and business development reports for senior management. Minimum Requirements Education Grade 12 (Matric). Qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Security Management, or a related field will be advantageous. Experience Minimum 5-10 years of proven sales experience. Minimum 3-5 years of sales management experience leading sales teams. Previous experience within the guarding\/security industry is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage high-performing sales teams. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets. Industry Knowledge Must have knowledge and experience within the guarding\/security sector. Candidates with guarding industry experience will be strongly preferred, as this role requires an understanding of security operations, guarding solutions, risk assessments, and client security requirements. Candidates without industry experience should demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt quickly within a specialised environment. Key Competencies Strong leadership and people management skills. Location Requirement: This position is Johannesburg-based and focused exclusively on growing the guarding business within the Johannesburg market. Preference will be given to candidates with proven guarding industry experience and a strong track record of managing successful sales teams.
