HCV Claims Consultant

SUMMARY:
An established financial services business is looking for an experienced HCV Claims Consultant to manage the full claims process for heavy commercial vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and processing claims, liaising with clients and service providers, and ensuring claims are handled accurately, efficiently and in line with policy requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end claims process for heavy commercial vehicles, including trucks, trailers and fleet vehicles. Register and assess new claims and ensure all required documentation is obtained. Review policy schedules and wording to determine cover, liability, exclusions and applicable excesses. Liaise with clients, brokers, insurers, assessors, loss adjusters, repairers and towing companies. Arrange and monitor vehicle assessments, towing, repairs and settlements. Obtain repair quotations and assess repair costs where required. Monitor claims from notification through to finalisation and ensure outstanding matters are followed up. Communicate regularly with clients regarding the progress and outcome of their claims. Investigate potentially suspicious or fraudulent claims and escalate where appropriate. Negotiate with service providers and repairers where required. Maintain accurate claims records and ensure all supporting documentation is captured. Handle claims-related queries professionally and resolve issues efficiently. Ensure claims are processed in accordance with policy requirements, internal procedures and applicable insurance regulations. Minimum Requirements Matric essential. 2-3 years' relevant experience in commercial vehicle claims, with heavy commercial vehicle experience highly advantageous. Experience with trucks, trailers, fleets or other heavy commercial vehicles will be strongly considered. RE5 qualification would be advantageous. A Short-Term Insurance qualification or NQF Level 4 qualification in Short-Term Insurance would be advantageous. FAIS-related experience or qualifications would be beneficial. Strong understanding of short-term insurance claims assessment, policy wording, liability and excesses. Experience working with insurers, brokers, assessors, repairers and other industry service providers. Good computer literacy and experience working with claims administration systems and Microsoft Office. **Only candidates with relevant commercial or heavy commercial vehicle claims experience will be considered. **
