Head: Financial Strategy & Management Accounting

SUMMARY:
To spearhead the setting of financial management strategic direction for the company by means of financial modelling, scenario planning and forecasting. Ensure that such interpretations and forecasting translate into enablers of the delivery of the company business financial strategy

POSITION INFO:

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Conduct financial modelling, scenario planning and forecasting for the finance division
• Management financial, treasury accounting and, third party operations management.
• Manage working capital, capital expenditures, debt levels and budgeting for the company. 
• Provide management and guidance for the company’s accounting function and assist in developing proper supporting systems and procedures.
• Provide financial and statistical report with recommendations for executive decision making
• Provide reports on management accounts for CFO, CEO and board.
• Ensure ongoing compliance in terms of financial; tax and related matters.
• Ensure appropriate financial policies and procedures are in place to support the business. 
• Interpret and analyse key financial information current and forecasted and ratio’s to assist in financial decision making.
• Enhance high standards of financial control and ensure effective management of working capital, margin management, risk management and disciplined financial best practice.
• Management accounting (MIS, budgeting, forecasting, management accounting and reporting, MIS, SAP business support for loans, FICO and procurement, data management, taxation, pricing model and margin management, capital allocation management)
• Infrastructure Delivery Division: to oversee the management accounting function for the Infrastructure Delivery Division by supporting the finance staff in the within IDD from a functional point of view. 
• Provide direction and management to the direct reports to enable the execution the strategy and manage their portfolios effectively.
• Attract, retain, and develop top-calibre talent. Develop and maintain sufficient depth in all critical functions, minimizing "key-man" risk.
• Optimise skills usage within the unit.
• Accuracy of financial reports
• Accuracy of budgets. Performance of budget vs. actual performance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified as a CA (SA) with strong technical expertise including financial modelling; margin management and capital structuring. Ideally a post graduate business function.
• CFA qualification will be an added advantage
• A strong career track record in managing the Financial Operations in a large, complex organization with multidimensional businesses for a minimum period of 8 years within the banking sector. 
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience of the above job function at a Management level as well as the ability to manage professionals.
• Understanding of the procurement process and how it relates to the financial controls
• Strong understanding of an a strong commitment to good corporate governance and specifically international reporting standards including IFRS, Basel, GAMAP, GAAP and other regulatory requirements including PFMA
• Exposure to Africa global markets Exposure to private equity, debt restructuring, corporate finance and credit management
