SUMMARY:
A Global Freight Business is looking for a Head of Finance to join their team.

POSITION INFO:

You will be responsible and accountable to manage the financial reporting, working capital, budgets and forecasts for the Africa region while providing ongoing strategic business partnering to the Organization.

This position is responsible for the preparation and presentation of the regional financial statements, budgets and forecasts. Working with key reports, this position will drive and motivate to deliver against agreed outcomes/benchmarks in the areas of Strategy, Finance and Accounting.

You will ensure a high standard of strategic support is provided by the Finance function to the VP of Africa and the operational teams. Part of this support will be to provide financial and analytical guidance on strategic initiatives and potential acquisitions, as well as, preparing and presenting the business case.

Description

Duties include but are not limited to :

• Leading the finance function for a Wholesale Freight Forwarding business - including accounts payable/receivable, payroll and costing.
• Timely and accurate submission of monthly management reporting packs in accordance with agreed timescale and International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Together with the key stakeholders, you will be responsible for setting and achieving budgets and forecasts in all areas of Exports, Imports, Express, Perishables, and Warehouse Services.
• IT implementation - working with the implementation team to manage the successful implementation of the new operating and accounting system. You will be required to work to tight deadlines, manage the risks, map to a new set of Chart of Accounts and embed new automated reporting standards.
• Experience in working with sales on pricing and setting marginal pricing to cover the fixed cost base.
• Working with the Sales team providing customer and product data and monitoring the commercial performance and targets.

Profile

• CA(SA) - A MUST
• Experience in Freight Forwarding/Cargo/Logistics/Airlines
• Experience managing accounting functions in a multi-site business preferred.
• Exposure to Business Partnering and M&A preferable
• Experience of implementing new systems an advantage.
• Management & Leadership experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.
• Strategic thinker.
• Proven time management skills.
