SUMMARY:
A leading organisation within the insurance / financial services sector is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Business Service Portfolio to lead the governance, delivery, and optimisation of enterprise-wide IT business services.
This role is ideal for an operationally strong technology leader who can act as a trusted partner to executive leadership, ensuring the effective management of IT service portfolios, driving business-IT alignment, and delivering measurable business value through strong service governance and operational excellence.
Location: Parktown, Johannesburg
Work Model: Hybrid

POSITION INFO:
Must-Have Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or related field (NQF Level 7 or higher)
Proven experience in IT Services Management (non-negotiable)
Strong background with hands-on technician/technical experience
Programming experience or exposure
Demonstrated experience managing IT services for business units
Experience operating as a CIO support / second-in-command / senior IT leader
Operationally strong with a track record of delivering results
Ability to lead through others and manage cross-functional teams

Responsibilities:

Lead IT Service Management (ITSM) strategy and execution across multiple business service portfolios
Oversee service portfolio management, ensuring prioritisation, governance, and value realisation of all technology-enabled initiatives
Manage and optimise IT services for business, ensuring stability, availability, and continuous improvement
Drive service delivery governance, ensuring delivery against scope, timelines, quality standards, and business outcomes
Strengthen business-IT alignment by acting as the key interface between business leadership and technology teams
Provide strong operational leadership across enterprise service delivery environments
Lead delivery through cross-functional teams, driving collaboration across IT, business, risk, compliance, and external partners
Oversee vendor and SLA management, ensuring accountability, performance, and service excellence
Ensure adherence to governance, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements
Drive service performance reporting, risk management, and continuous service improvement initiatives
