POSITION INFO:
Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing business seeking a Head of Finance to lead the full finance function and play a critical role in business performance, cost optimisation, and strategic planning.
This role requires a strong operational finance leader who understands manufacturing complexities, including costing, budgeting, reporting, working capital management, and process improvement.
You will manage and mentor a finance team while partnering closely with the Managing Director and senior stakeholders to drive profitability and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the full finance function including reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Drive costing, margin analysis, and operational profitability across manufacturing operations.
Oversee monthly management accounts, board packs, and financial performance reporting.
Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital optimisation, and funding requirements.
Ensure strong governance, audit readiness, and statutory compliance.
Partner with operational teams to improve efficiency, controls, and financial processes.
Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team to deliver high performance and growth.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:

CA(SA) (Non-negotiable)

Experience:

Minimum 6–10 years post-articles experience in finance roles
Proven experience in a manufacturing / industrial / FMCG / engineering production environment
Strong leadership experience managing a finance team
Solid experience in budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance

Skills:

Strong understanding of manufacturing costing, stock control, and variance analysis
Advanced Excel skills (non-negotiable)
ERP system exposure (SAP / Syspro / Oracle / Microsoft Dynamics advantageous)
Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering ability
Commercial mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Other Non-Negotiables:

Must be willing to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders
