JOB DESCRIPTION:

Seeking a Head of Finance for a Project Management Solution and Consultancy company in the Science and Environmental sector with their expertise being in the field of physical oceanography, marine ecology biology, resources and biogeochemistry. This entity is a subsidiary of a French company and is needing a Head of Finance to support the Managing Director and to supervise and lead the financial operations in Cape Town. This qualified individual needs to have the ability to manage the financial backbone of the subsidiary while also supporting the operational managers with relevant finance metrics.

Responsibilities

Lead Financial Scope
Supervise external accounting provider
Review entries, bookkeeping supervision
Supervise and Manage accounting assistant
Set up / Improve financial processes: Cash collection, working capital management
Provide monthly reporting to MD and HQ
- Update and analyse the projects with the operation managers to prepare the revenue with the cost of completion method (IFRS 15)
- Provide a monthly reporting based on Group standards and Instructions
- Provide a monthly analysis, explaining variances vs forecast
- IC reconciliation with CLS group members
Provide financial support to CEO and operational managers:
- Build relevant KPIs in line with MD/operational managers needs
- Define and monitor financial analysis to support business and business growth
- Oversee Financial strategy and assess financial impact of business decisions
Build Yearly forecast and reforecast
- Identify financial risks and opportunities
- Build a cash forecast and reforecast
Support other departments
- Budgets for Government tenders and Request for Proposals from private companies
- EE and BB-BEE compliance
- ISO audits
- Other statutor requirements

Requirements

Degreed / Qualified
5 - 8 years
Business orientated
Strong communication skills
Advanced Excel and Pastel Skills
Skills on cost completion method for revenue recognition and IFRS
