JOB SUMMARY:
Our client based in Parktown is looking for a Head of IT Operations to join the team.

The candidate needs to have excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, MS Exchange, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications and Experience :

Bcom Computer Science, Diploma in IT or similar
Certifications in server, network, IT governance and project management will be an added advantage
5 years of experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
3 to 5 years successful leadership of an infrastructure and IT operations team

Experience :

Establish strong partnerships with Vendors
Set clear expectations
Establish service level agreements and measure vendors
Ensure contracts are in place to support the services provided by the Infrastructure team
Assist in the planning and implementation of additions and deletions to the network infrastructure
Oversee the administration and maintanence of the companies network infrastructure including WAN
Implement network security
Monitor network to ensure network functionality and availability to all system users
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cabled, wireless and other network infrastructure
Manage Information Technology and computer systems
Oversee troubleshooting, system backups, archiving, disaster recovery and provide expert support as needed
Work with project teams to help enhance internal systems
Plan, organise, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
Ensure end users are trained on how to utilise computer systems
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
Establish standard ways of working to ensure technical teams work together in a consistent manner
Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
Maintain the company’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Direct technological research by understanding the goals, practices, strategies and projects of the company
Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective action
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies
