Head of Power & Commercial Strategy

SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Power & Commercial Strategy to lead the commercial strategy for a growing renewable energy portfolio. The role will focus on power procurement, energy transactions, commercial negotiations and risk management across large-scale energy projects

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Develop and execute the power-market and commercial strategy Lead the sourcing, structuring and negotiation of PPAs, wheeling, grid-access and power-sale agreements Manage commercial relationships with IPPs, utilities, traders, suppliers and other key stakeholders Develop pricing, risk, credit and hedging strategies Build commercial models, investment cases and board-level recommendations Ensure agreements are commercially robust and bankable Monitor South African electricity-market, tariff and regulatory developments Lead and develop the commercial power team Skills & Experience: Significant experience in power markets, energy trading, renewable energy or energy infrastructure Proven track record in negotiating and closing complex energy transactions Strong understanding of the South African electricity market, wheeling and regulatory environment Strong commercial, financial modelling, negotiation and risk-management skills Experience working with project finance and senior stakeholders Minimum 8 years of experience Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Energy, Law or a related field MBA, Finance\/Energy Economics qualification or relevant professional training would be advantageous.
