Head of SecDevOps

SUMMARY:
Datacentrix Managed Talent Solution’s client is seeking a visionary Head of SecDevOps to drive the secure digital future of their organization. Must have 10 years' experience in IT with at least 5 years' experience in SecDevOps or a related field, and 5 years' experience in managing technical teams.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Post-graduate Degree - from NQF L8 in IT.
• 10+ years’ experience in IT security leadership, with at least 5 years in a SecDevOps or cybersecurity strategy role.
• Relevant Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of SecDevOps practices, cloud security, SOC operations, and secure software development lifecycles (SDLC).
• Proven experience leading cybersecurity initiatives in critical infrastructure or highly regulated industries.
• Deep technical understanding of endpoint protection, network security, cloud security, identity & access management, SOCaaS, SASE, and threat detection & response.
• Experience developing and implementing cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, etc.).
• Strong strategic leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and senior executives.
• Executive training or business acumen qualifications (e.g., ITIL, Harvard/INSEAD executive programs) would be advantageous.

• Develop and implement the SecDevOps strategic plan in alignment with the client’s IT and business strategy.
• Build and drive a cybersecurity strategy that ensures safety, security, compliance, and operational resilience.
• Lead the integration of secure software development practices into the IT and operational technology environment.
• Champion the adoption of cloud-native security, automation, and continuous delivery practices across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity resilience across critical infrastructure.
• Act as a trusted advisor to executives and decision-makers, translating complex security risks into actionable business strategies.
• Oversee cyber risk governance, compliance frameworks, and incident response capabilities.
• Ensure ongoing alignment with international cybersecurity strategies and national regulatory requirements.
• Drive innovation by staying abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to build a high-performance cybersecurity culture.
